For all forex traders who are looking for fresher markets or generally less trading time in their day trading and wish to enjoy life more than I have a great solution. Emini trading could be the solution for you whether you live in Australia or the united states this market could be for you.
I now almost exclusively day trade the emini market because I found day trading currencies to be very slow and frustrating. The frustration was not with the market but some days the speed of the market is absolutely slow in my opinion, I believe that the most successful day traders spend less time trading and more time enjoying life.The other key reason was with a futures broker the price is regulated meaning that no matter what broker you use you get the same price which is unlike forex brokers who are market makers and spread and prices are some what unpredictable and unreliable.
Then I found emini trading and to be honest what a relief this has been for me personally, I have a two hour rule in place and to be honest some days I have been done in less than 45 minutes. Most futures brokers have a margin requirement of $500 and a minimum account balance of $2500 so it is still very affordable to trade the emini. All prices are fixed so for the S&P 500 is $12.50 per tick,the Russell is $10 per tick and the Nasdaq emini is $5.00 per tick, and brokerage is commissioned based so spread is not a factor. So as a day trader emini trading has the biggest gain of seeing true and transparent pricing which is important when you are targeting smaller trade targets.
The negative for Australian emini trading enthusiasts is definitely the hours the market operates but with such short trading times most people are not put off by this, for me with a young family it better as the disruptions are definitely less.
